The Unstoppable Mindset of an Athlete

We regularly hear about people who are naturally competitive. You’re most likely to hear about this competitive nature in professional sports.

We’ve heard their names before: Michael Phelps, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Tiger Woods, Tom Brady, Steph Curry, J.J. Watt, Missy Franklin, Usain Bolt, Lindsay Vaughn and many others.

What people don’t forget are the years upon years and thousands upon thousand of hours spent developing and honing their skillset.

What we don’t see are the early mornings and late nights spent practicing before anyone else has arrived and well after they have left. We don’t see these players offseason workout regimens trying to get a hair better. We don’t see their conditioning and strict diets.

Every once in a while we are able to get a glimmer into what this training is like. Take, for example, Steph Curry’s pre-game routine. People show up early in every city just because watching this routine is something unlike any others you will see.

We only get to see them under the big lights.

I would contend that these athletes adopt an unstoppable mindset.

They want to be the best athlete in their sport.

They want to be the best version of themselves when they compete.

They want to stay injury free and when they do get injured they want to heal as fast as possible to get back out there.

At the end of the day, they work to be as unstoppable as possible based on their mindset and their want to compete.
