Day 536: A Back-to-Back Day

I typically set my alarm for 5:45a during the work week but today I set it for 7:00a since I didn’t get to bed until around 12:30a. Sasha and Darren woke me up around 6:30a but that was still 45 minutes extra sleep that were helpful.

I took the light rail into work again thus giving me a chance to rack up around 2,500 steps by 8:00a. That’s nothing compared to when I would workout in the morning but it did feel good to get out and walk to start off my day.

Though I didn’t have a lot of meetings, I did have a few long meetings which consumed the majority of the day. When I picked my head up I only had 30 minutes before I had to leave to catch the light rail home. Luckily, I was able to review and submit a few deliverables in the slivers of time that I did have available.

Before I left I got a surprise call from our CMO who just wanted to check in to see how I was feeling. When he had first heard what happened he offered to do whatever he could to help and had sent a beautiful fruit and chocolate basket to us. With so much on his plate, it meant a lot that he gave me a quick ring.

Tomorrow I only have a couple of meetings so I’ll be able to get quality time in my office to focus on the never-ending list of deliverables that I have this week.

Laura made it back from her company’s planning meeting earlier than she thought. That was a nice surprise because it allowed us to go out for our date night tonight instead of tomorrow.

I was originally planning on doing 500 kettlebell swings but since we went out to dinner, I will pick up the challenge tomorrow night, finishing it off with the final 1,000 swings between Thursday and Friday.

I am looking forward to getting a solid night of sleep after only getting 6 hours last night and having Laura back home.
