Day 519: A Fun First Day in Vegas

It was nice to get a solid night of sleep last night before heading to Vegas for a few days. I seem to be sleeping better since we started closing our door this week. I’m not sure why since it doesn’t make it darker or quieter.

I had an easy flight to Vegas during which I continued listening to “13 Hours” which is what the upcoming movie is based on.

It tells the story of what really happened in Benghazi, Libya when a U.S. Special Mission Compound and a CIA Station were attacked and six American security operators fought to repel them. It is solely about the attacks and not about the politics that happened afterward.

It reads as though it was fictional because of how intense it is - it is almost unbelievable. If you decide to read it, I highly recommend listening to it because it is a remarkable read.

As soon as we landed it was time to get running at full speed. Fortunately, though we work really hard, it’s with a great group of friends who have a lot of fun doing what we do.

Thanks to all of the running around I will surpass 15,000 steps for the day. Not too bad for a rest day from the gym.

After our employee briefing it was time to host a party for our attendees that my team put together. It was a great night getting to talk with people who I don’t get a chance to see often enough.

With my work responsibilities completed for the night, I transitioned into getting ready to start chemo. As usual, there is a process to it starting first with taking my anti-nausea pill followed by waiting an hour. Once that hour passes I then have to wash my hands before and after handling the chemo pills.

I’ll have to see how I feel tomorrow. Typically on the first day my hunger is in overdrive and I don’t feel any fatigue. If something goes astray then I’ll adjust as my body needs.
