Every one of us faces fears at some level and at several points throughout our lives. It may be asking for a raise at work. It might be the fear of moving somewhere new. It could be buying your first home. Or it could be being diagnosed with something that rattles you.
While I believe that being unstoppable is a choice, using drive to defy conventional wisdom is just as important. When I initially met my neurosurgeon he told me that I would never lift weights again. I decided that I wasn't going to allow my injuries to dictate how I was going to live my life. Fast forward 11 months and I accomplished my first Spartan Race.
While you may not always have control of the situation that you’re in, you always have the ability to make a choice of how you will deal with that situation. You should not let people determine how you will live your life. You decide how you want to live your life. Being unstoppable is a choice. You get to make that choice on a daily basis.
As I was preparing to talk with a few friends over the coming weeks I realized that I had never fully defined what being built unstoppable fully means. Being built unstoppable means that by dealing with whatever is going in your life one step, one day and one challenge at a time, you can deal with whatever lay ahead for you.
It is my firm belief that throughout life every single one of us are presented with moments where we can choose to take the unstoppable route. Throughout your life you need to identify these situations and work through taking the unstoppable decision. Make the changes that are necessary, including working through any fears that you may have. That doesn’t mean making these decisions recklessly, but after weighing the considerations, don’t let something like fear hold you back. As I have found out too many times throughout my life, you never know what tomorrow may hold for you.
