I slept another 8.5 hours last night and, unlike the night before, it was a hard sleep. I only woke up once during the night and that was just to turn over.
After enjoying non-stop deliciousness yesterday, I headed to the gym this morning for another 500 kettlebell swings.
Since I was able to complete the previous two workouts unbroken at 16 kg (35 lbs), I decided to increase the weight by 2 kg to 18 kg (40 lbs).
I kept the sets the same number of reps (25-25-50) and the rests the same (30 secs between sets, 60 secs between rounds).
I also decided to try a new pair of UnderArmour training gloves that Laura had bought me as a Christmas present. What’s different about these gloves compared to my Harbinger gloves is that these are thinner thus allowing for more contact and grip with the kettlebell. They also don’t have wrist-wraps so that I’m working on strengthening my wrists as well.
I was able to tackle all sets/rounds unbroken with only a :03 second increase in time to 24:34.
I could absolutely feel the strain in my forearms and grip with the increase in weight, especially during the 50 reps sets.
Only slipping by a few seconds made me happy since I increased the weight. It is still far off from a time that I saw someone on Instagram post (17:48) but I’m happy with where I am 3,000 swings into the challenge.
Laura and I went to see the new Star Wars movie since she hadn’t seen it yet. It was even better seeing it the second time. It is such a phenomenal movie.
After the movie we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant for the first time since before Thanksgiving. Chilly and wet weather isn’t really margarita weather so we tend to go longer spans in between visits than we do during the warmer months.
I’m looking forward to finishing out our long holiday weekend with another great day tomorrow before it’s back to work for a few days before another long weekend next week.
